More and more companies are choosing to bring back production and development from low-wage countries. E.D.&A. took this reshoring step in 2012. Now ten years later, this does certainly not do any harm to us as a Belgian electronics manufacturer. Our customers need flexibility, speed and quality, and so do we.
We use various standards and tools to ensure the quality of the written software code. The 'continuous build server' automatically checks every night whether the code is in line with the standard and with our own house style. Besides the static code analyses, we also have a Python framework that allows us to continuously test the code against customer specifications.
The downside of digitisation and the connection machines and devices to the internet is that they become more vulnerable to cyber attacks and other risks. Cyber security will demand more and more attention from both electronics developers (like us) and machine and appliance constructors (like you) in the coming years. What is E.D.&A.'s role in cybersecurity?
From Tuesday, September 23rd to Thursday, September 25th, you can visit Electronics & Applications (E&A) at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht. Stop by our booth and discover the latest developments in electronics. Also, join us on Wednesday, September 24th for our seminar: ‘Made in Europe: The Future of Electronics Manufacturing’.
Co-development is the key to shorter development cycles and faster time-to-market. Co-development for hardware and software can be implemented in various ways. However, it is not a requirement – E.D.&A. can still take care of the entire development process. How would you like to collaborate?

Many organizations still view the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) as something that only applies to new connected products from 2027 onwards. However, this assumption is only partly correct. As early as September 2026, a mandatory reporting obligation for cybersecurity incidents will come into force. This requirement affects all existing products, including smartphone apps and server-side applications that are part of your product ecosystem. What does this mean for you as a manufacturer of machines and appliances?
