How we develop our embedded software
Low-level software & application software
We write the low level software and/or the application software for the electronic controller in accordance with your wishes. We utilise “cross-platform” development in the code and via graphical tools.
This approach allows us to start implementing the software even before the hardware is available. In doing so, we also reduce our lead times of your project.
Software co-development
How would you like to collaborate for the software development of your electronics? As far as we are concerned, you have the choice of several options:
- E.D.&A . develops the hardware and writes the low level software (the software between the application software and the hardware) as well as the application software for the electronic controller. The total package of software is written by us.
OR
- Co-development: E.D.&A. develops the hardware and writes the low-level software. The application software is done by the customer or is outsourced to a third party with the necessary expertise and capacity.
Provided good agreements are made, co-development can certainly be an interesting method of collaboration. In this way the intellectual property (often incorporated in the software) remains fully protected. In this approach, E.D.&A. can provide basic training in writing and testing high-quality software.
Automated software code analysis tools
We also attach great importance to quality in software. Our software developers follow strict guidelines under the supervision of automated software code analysis tools.
In addition, all our developments (including our software) are tested extensively in-house. An automated process ensures that code is built and tested at night on the electronic controllers in our so-called ‘test farm’. In the morning, our software engineers can then get straight to work with the test results.
