Co-development: faster time-to-market, together with E.D.&A.

Co-development is the key to shorter development cycles and faster time-to-market. By combining our expertise in hardware and embedded software with our customers' domain knowledge, we work together to create the smartest controller solutions that are ready for in-house mass production faster.

Flexible collaboration

Co-development can take various forms. The examples are endless.

  • Hardware:
    • E.D.&A. develops the schematic and the PCB with exchange of 3D STEP files for perfect integration of the PCB into the customer's mechanics.

    • Based on the customer's concept (POC), E.D.&A. industrialises the PCB.
  • Software:
    • E.D.&A. writes the Board Support Package (BSP) with all the necessary functionality such as drivers, protocols, bootloader and RTOS integration. A demo application shows how the extensively tested & documented API works and gives the customer the opportunity to quickly develop (or have developed) the domain-specific application software. From the start of the project, the customer can obtain a development environment to get started.

    • User interfaces: Using a graphical editor, the customer designs, for example, an LVGL-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) that runs directly on a PC. With a single click, the exact same interface is implemented on an embedded Linux device, which runs seamlessly on a touchscreen. This setup allows teams to start developing and testing user interfaces from day one, even before the hardware is available.

Advantages of co-development

  • Faster development: parallel processes with fewer dependencies.
  • Better collaboration: design, software and mechanics fit together seamlessly.
  • Intellectual property protection: the customer retains control over the knowledge of their application.
  • Quality assurance: we provide support with documentation, training and testing tools.
  • Expertise-oriented collaboration: efficient combination of our knowledge and that of the customer.
  • Short feedback loop: easier experimentation at the customer's site (faster feedback from stakeholders).

The result? Short iterations, better products and a smoother path to market.

Co-development on the rise – but total development remains possible.

More and more customers are consciously choosing co-development because it offers flexibility. Nevertheless, E.D.&A. remains the partner of choice for total development: from hardware and low-level software to application software for the electronic controller, fully integrated and ready to use. E.D.&A. takes care of everything for its customers by offering them a turnkey solution.
