Additional selective soldering machine came into operation

Since 2012, we have been demonstrating every day that electronics production in Belgium is possible, provided you invest smartly in people and automation. Last year, we invested in an additional SMD line, a laser marking machine and an extra Flying Probe Test machine to triple the production capacity.

To keep up with the still increasing demand for production, an extra selective soldering machine was brought into use last month for soldering through-hole components.

Function of selective soldering machines in electronics production

A selective soldering machine consists of different modules: first there is the fluxer that applies (selective) flux to the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) panels, then these panels are heated by a heater and then go to the soldering station. This selective soldering machine will only solder (selectively) in places where the pins of through hole components come through the PCB. The new machine is parallel to the current machine, but is a lot bigger and has 6 soldering pots.
