Inline laser marker takes over a part of the job of our SMD placement machines
Seven years ago, we started automatically placing unique serial numbers on our products using the SMD placement machines (Surface Mounted Devices). Now we are going one step further. Now, the inline laser marking equipment places this unique serial number on the PCB during electronics production.
The available capacity on our SMD-placement machines is eagerly used for placing additional SMD components. The inline laser marking line provides extra value and increases flexibility compared to preprinted labels. For example, the laser marking of a date code next to the serial number on the PCB.
Taking full advantage of Tracking & Tracing
The ‘tracking & tracing functionality’ remains unchanged. We link all installed components, all internal production steps (incl. test data), etc. to the unique serial number. Our customers can receive this product data per serial number to link it in turn to the product serial number of their machine or appliance. This enables even more extensive traceability: what software version does this machine have? When was the PCB of this machine manufactured, etc.?
