At E.D.&A. we develop and produce hardware and embedded software tailored to our customers' needs. We assemble/manufacture the PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) ourselves, always starting from our electronics design.
When developing customised electronics, we always keep the end product - the physical electronic controller - in mind. Smart development for smart production, that has been our motto from day one.
The inline laser marking machine puts the unique serial number on the PCB during electronics production. We link all placed components, all internal production steps (incl. test data), etc. to the unique serial number. Our customers can receive this product data per serial number to link it in turn to the product serial number of their machine or device. This enables even more extensive tracking and tracing.
SMT is a production method in which electronic components (such as ICs, resistors, etc.) are placed on the PCB fully automatically (they are literally 'surface mounted' components, or SMD, Surface Mounted Devices). We have SMD assembly lines for automatic placement of the PCBs.
When the SMD components are automatically positioned on the solder paste, the board moves towards the reflow oven where they are soldered (PCB soldering).
Some components are not available in SMD form. These are the so called THT components and they are placed after the SMD process. This type of components has connections which are placed through the PCB in pre-drilled holes (also known as 'through hole'). Previously, assembly of these components was done manually but nowadays it is partly done automatically.
After an automatic optical inspection (AOI), the PCBs then go to the selective soldering machines.
We strongly believe in inline process control: after each step of the PCB assembly we perform checks via automatic inspection methods: SPI (Solder Paste Inspection), 3D AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection) and so on.
After that, the assembled PCBs go to the next step, which is the Flying Probe Test phase. Here, the flying probes (literally 'flying test needles') perform electronic measurements on the PCB. This is done fully automatically. All PCBs are tested 100% at E.D.&A.
For larger series, we have Inline Functional Test lines. These machines contain an extensive measuring system that ensures that the PCBs are automatically functionally tested. In the case of smaller series, we perform manual functional tests.
At E.D.&A., the cooperation with our customers goes beyond our solutions. Your customised solution always includes the right follow-up and service.
If desired, we supply more than just electronics. We can take care of the complete assembly of your electronic controller with a (custom-made) housing or electrical cabinet including cables and manuals. Your products are also packaged with the necessary care.
This is how we guarantee the quality of our electronics production every day.
