New Component Storage Cabinets Strengthen Our Smart Manufacturing Approach

At the beginning of July, we installed two new automatic storage cabinets from Essegi in our production facility. Essegi specializes in component management and automated component storage. With this investment, we are taking another important step in the continued professionalization of our production environment.

Efficient management of SMD components

The new storage cabinets are used to manage our SMD components and support the logistics processes around our production lines. Both systems are equipped with humidity control, allowing them to function as dry storage cabinets for moisture-sensitive components (MSL). As a result, we not only improve storage efficiency but also ensure optimal preservation of critical components.

Integration with our MES system

In the coming months, the storage cabinets will be fully integrated into our production processes. The connection with our MES system plays a central role in this integration. Through the exchange of real-time information between both systems, we can maximize the strengths of each platform. The storage cabinets will automatically dispense the correct components based on requests from the MES system. Surplus components returning from the production line will then be automatically received back into stock and stored again. Another meaningful step forward in our smart manufacturing ambitions.

Improved workplace ergonomics

In addition to efficiency gains, the new systems contribute to a more ergonomic working environment. Picking and managing SMD components is now faster, more organized and requires fewer manual operations.
