New CoBot takes over repetitive, time-consuming tasks from our operators.

Early June the Omron TM5-900 CoBot was introduced on our work floor.  This collaborative robot (Cobot) is specifically adapted (slower, you can also stop it by hand, etc.) to carry out tasks in a safe way in the vicinity of humans, or even to work with him on the same object. Because the CoBot is intrinsically safer than a robot, it does not have to work in an enclosed cage. On top of the CoBot there is a camera that allows it to recognize objects, essential for some pick and place tasks. The base of the CoBot is mounted on a mobile workstation, allowing us to use it in multiple places in our Factory of The Future.

More flexible automation with our CoBot

The work of our operators becomes more efficient using this CoBot. Our operators are now relieved of certain tedious, time-consuming tasks - such as cutting coils - by working side by side with the CoBot.

Of course, it is important to us that everything is ESD safe. It was not easy to get an ESD-safe model of this CoBot, but a model with ESD paint was specially produced for us.
