Extensive testing of our electronics designs. Shortly also in our full compliant 3m Semi Anechoic Chamber (SAC)

At the start of each new project, the design specifications are refined in close consultation with the customer. Our R&D Engineers provide extensive testing for both soft and hardware.

Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests in the Faraday cage

The hardware designs for our customers must meet many standards and guidelines. An important standard determines that our electronic controllers must not interfere with the correct functioning of other devices. Conversely, the correct operation of our controllers should not be disturbed by other devices. In jargon, this is bundled under the name EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility).

This often amounts to testing of radiation through the air (radiation) and through the wiring (conduction). All these tests are carried out according to strict regulations imposed by Europe and are part of the CE mark. We already carry out some of these tests, namely radiation and responsiveness via the wiring ('conducted immunity and emission') in our existing Faraday cage.

E.D.&A. provides additional full compliant 3m Semi Anechoic Chamber (SAC)

The installation of a "full compliant 3m SAC" (Semi Anechoic Chamber) in the new building will enable our engineers to also take 'radiated emission' measurements in-house in full accordance with the applicable standards such as EN61000-6-3 or -4, CISPR14-1, CISPR32 and others.

The dimensions of this additional room are not the least: 7.95m x 5.40m x 5.62m (LxBxH). The room is equipped with a turning platform with a diameter of 1.5m and a maximum loading capacity of 1.000 kg. This allows us to measure entire machines or customers' devices in the room. The maximum test volume is 1.5m in diameter with a height of 1.5m. The computer-controlled turning platform and the antenna mast make it possible to fully automatically perform measurements. The "boresight" antenna mast with a height of 4.5 meters ensures that the antenna and the device are always correctly aligned together. This also makes it possible to carry out measurements correctly according to the US Directive "FCC part 15" at a distance of 3 meters, hence the designation 3m Semi Anechoic Chamber.
