ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge): thunder and lightning on your workfloor!
The human body is constantly charging, and when touching metals, a discharge occurs, a so-called ESD current, which is not always visible and audible. Electronic components can be damaged as a result. ESD-damaged components are very difficult to trace; therefore, prevention is very important. At E.D.&A. we take various ESD measures (special coats, tables, antistatic packaging, etc.) in and around our production room.
Bruno Bertels explained the possible impact of ElectronicStatic Discharge (ESD) on electronics during a webinar (28.05.2020). But also at your workplace, electrostatic discharges are a creeping risk of damage to the electronics during their handling. Preventive measures are certainly advisable.
