Operating platform for extractor hood

Our customer, a manufacturer of standard and customised extractor hoods, wanted to switch from AC to EC motors and wanted to develop a new future-proof control and operating platform with a reliable RF remote control.

The customer took care of the mechanical design of the remote control and E.D.&A. took care of the print design, which led to an intense collaboration (co-development) in reaching the perfect final product. The remote control is bidirectional, giving the end user feedback about the chosen extraction speed. E.D.&A. developed a dead-front glass operation with two capacitive control buttons for the operation on the extractor hood: the motor position and grease filter indicator are only visible when they are active. The manufacturer can configure the PWM sets for the EC motors itself, so that the complete range of extractor hoods can be covered with just one controller.
