Electronic controller for hot water heaters

Industrial market

For a French customer, part of a large group, E.D.&A. developed a completely new control cabinet for their hot water heaters for large buildings, shops, etc.

This project is a fine example of software co-development. The customer is responsible for developing the embedded application software and E.D.&A. takes care of the hardware and BSP software. This BSP software (low-level software) was written and supplied in such a way that the customer itself can develop the top application layer of the software via documented APIs. In this way, the customer himself can quickly and flexibly - without third-party intervention - further extend the application software with future features.

When developing the customised housing for the electronics, we also aimed for optimal cooperation between our customer, E.D.&A. and the plastics supplier. Our customer receives the developed electronic controller with 4.3" IPS colour display as a completely assembled unit, incl. front label from E.D.&A. A one-stop-shopping story tout court.

This electronic controller is equipped with all kinds of digital and analogue inputs and outputs and also has the necessary communication capabilities. The whole thing was CE-tested in an official lab, for which E.D.&A. provided the support. Unburdening the customer in all kinds of areas, that is our added value.
