E.D.&A. originally developed the Remote Communication Controller (RCC-30) for the vending industry. But thanks to the wide range of possibilities of this single board controller it can also be used in other sectors.
The Remote Communication Controller (RCC-30) is a C programmable controller for installation in appliances and machines. Besides the digital I/O (more than 70 I/O on the card) the RCC-30 has various interesting characteristics.
New: webserver and GSM on board
From now on the RCC-30 can also be equipped with a webserver. From a standard webbrowser information can be retrieved from a machine anywhere in the world. Because of this web technology a specific software for retrieving this information becomes superfluous. The RCC-30 can also be equipped with a GSM modem for sending and receiving e-mails through a PPP dial up connection.
Standard characteristics
Besides 24 digital inputs/14 relay outputs the Remote Communication Controller (RCC-30) is also equipped with 2 serial RS232 ports for communication with peripheral equipment. One of both ports is also used as a programmator port.
Besides both serial ports also a MDB has been provided, so a coin reader or a cashless appliance (e.g. a Proton Reader) can be connected to the machine. It has a 32 Kb Ram on board, which can be expanded to 2 Mb RAM. Various library functions are available among other things for data logging and telecontrol through a modem or GSM. Many communication protocols are standard available. Programming allows you to develop your own protocols.
Expansion possibilities
The Remote Communication Controller (RCC-30) can be expanded with an LCD screen (e.g. 4 lines of 20 characters) and a keyboard with a maximum of 26 keys. The expansion rack for 3 cards allows the system to expand with one of the many extension cards. There are various possibilities to do this such as a step motor card and a card for positioning.
