E.D.&A. invests in short-distance wireless communication (March 2010)
Innovation is still the key word. In recent years, the Belgian electronic controller manufacturer E.D.&A. invested in the branch of long-distance communication, ranging from a simple modem connection to GPRS communication. In the past few months significant investments have been made for short-distance wireless communication - one example is Zigbee®.
The increasing interest and further development of the Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN) -wireless networks with a limited range- open new opportunities where previously difficult and expensive wired solutions were chosen.
Standards such as ZigBee® and Bluetooth® and IEEE® 802.15.4 supplemented with energy-saving enhancements are a direct substitute for wired connections. The combination with the electronic controllers of E.D.&A. gives the user an unprecedented flexibility and high reliability that is often cheaper than a wired solution.
Since 1981 E.D.&A. has been a leader in the development and assembling of custom-made electronic controls for industrial and serial applications. These controllers can be equipped with divers operating and data communication possibilities.
