For one of the market leaders in milk cooling tanks E.D.&A. develops and produces a new custom-made controller.
This new controller, that regulates the refrigeration and the cleaning of the tank, also has to be able to log data. This is the so-called "milk watch"-function which is used for monitoring the quality of the milk. The milk cannot be collected if there is something wrong with the cooling or the cleaning of the tank.
The controller can be equipped with a GSM-modem. Because of this the tank can report disturbances. Also the "milk watch" information (historical data about the cleaning and the cooling) can be read at a distance.
The new controller will replace 2 existing controllers. The design is based on an ARM-processor with an RTOS. The user interface is a VFD-display.

During the development period, our customer has thoroughly tested the software on a PC-simulation. This was a big success because the first “real” prototype has been smoothly set to work on a “real” installation. The software is being finished and in the meantime the design of the circuit board is being prepared for production.
At the end of 2007 production will start.
