Controller sends logged data per e-mail to user (May 2002)
E.D.&A. combines control and data log functions in the High Performance Controllers (HPC®). These controllers are mostly equipped with a handy operating terminal with display and optionally have a memory (up to 2 Mb) that was extended as a data logger. That way calculations, interruptions and temperatures can be saved and searched for analysis.
Reading out
Reading out this memory can be done on the spot or from a distance (via a modem). Via the modem testing, programming, upgrading and reading out the controller is efficiently and cost-effectively achieved by dialling in from a remote workstation.
But nowadays the controller itself can also send the logged data to the user per e-mail (via Intranet or a PPP connection). In that case, the user doesn't have to read out data himself and he doesn't need specific software to do this.
Through a built-in mini webserver the most recent data can be looked into by means of a webbrowser and also parameters can be altered.
