History

1981

Foundation of EDA by Florent D'Handschotter. Started to produce customer specific electronics.

1984

The first completely Belgian PLC: the "EDA PLC" was launched onto the market. This was a successful and very user-friendly product series that many educational institutes used to acquaint the students with PLC's.

1989

The name EDA changed to E.D.&A. (Electronics, Design & Automation)

1990

E.D.&A. moved to its present address Energielaan 16, 2950 Kapellen

1996

A totally new and unique product the High Performance Controller (HPC®) was launched onto the market. It is a combination of an industrial controller and an operating panel (MMI), which is simple to programme in the "C" programming language.

1999

E.D.&A. invests in new data communication technologies such as TCP/IP, e-mail, webserver, ethernet and GSM among other things.

2000

E.D.&A. introduces first production of industrial controllers with integrated TCP/IP options.

2004

Introduction product line Telecontrol Systems

2006

E.D.&A.'s 25th anniversary. During the years custom-made products continually increased which necessitated more storage space, production space, offices, etc. In 2006 building work started to double the original building's floor size.

Inauguration of the new building.

2009

Acquisition by Gert D'Handschotter (son of founder Flor D'Handschotter).
