Development of a controller for winter gardens. A winter garden can be used throughout the year as a full-fledged living room. Especially a flawless structurally engineered construction and a heating system, but also an effective ventilation system is essential to achieve the full years usability.

This ventilation system has to protect the winter garden against overheating during the summer months. During the winter months it has to give natural ventilation benefits. While the system uses significantly less power (energy saving solution) compared to an air conditioning system, it must be able to automatically protect the furniture and the plants in the winter garden.

The control solution consists of two components:
- the control panel in the winter garden with display and keyboard, to make settings and to read values - a power unit for the connection of linear motors for the air flaps and a regulator for the fan motor which is installed in the garden. So the fan quietly provides the necessary air circulation in the winter garden. Controlling the air flaps prevents draught.

So this controller creates an additional comfort in the winter garden, taking into account the requirements of environmental protection. The controller will be developed in regard to ECO-design and EuP directives (EuP = energy using products) and will be equipped according to the latest state of technology and is ready for the future.

Total solution including complete clapmotor system

E.D.&A. has also received an order to deliver the complete clapmotor system. This system is used to open and close claps for fresh air intake in the winter garden. There are wooden grids which could be closed with a wooden clap which will be moved by help of this motor and a string belt.
